Join a Committee

The more the merrier.

There’s no question that we need all the help we can get. And the truth is that our committees and volunteers are a big reason why the Chamber is what it is.

Whatever your speciality, there are definitely ways we can use your help. When it comes to committees, they range from Advocacy & Policy and Marketing, Promotions & Branding to Events and Finance. Our volunteer opportunities are vast and varied so there’s no end to ways you work with the Chamber!

Advocacy & Policy Committee

The Advocacy & Policy Committee advocates on behalf of small businesses by interacting with all three levels of government, which includes the municipal councils of Mount Pearl, Paradise & St. John’s. Since many municipal and provincial politicians are also Chamber members, member businesses are able to lend their voice to economic, financial and legislative issues. Volunteers are responsible for representing member views on municipal and provincial government representatives and developing policies that guide the Chamber’s operations.

Marketing, Promotions & Branding Committee

The Marketing, Promotions & Branding Committee is responsible for coordinating all marketing and promotion initiatives. It also assists in the preparation and coordination of the Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber newsletter, which focuses on members, external stakeholders, and any other required communications. Volunteers help develop and administer all aspects of media advertising, website development, and maintenance, social media strategy, marketing collateral, promotional items, and branding.

Calling all Volunteers!

Volunteers are a major part of every not-for-profit organization and the Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber of Commerce is no exception. The good news is that the Chamber is a dynamic organization with a passionate team and lots of fun things happening all the time. If you want to be part of a great team, we’d love to hear from you.

Events Committee & Special Events Sub-Committee

The Events Committee plans and organizes all the Chamber’s regular events such as luncheons, dinners, networking events and lunch & learn sessions. The Special Events Sub-Committee handles special events such as our annual golf tournaments and the Best in Business awards gala. Volunteers aid in all aspects of planning and coordination.

Finance & Local Office Committee

The Finance & Local Office Committee handles all the responsibilities of the local office including IT, human and financial resource management and other administrative services. Volunteers oversee office management, monitor the budget and human resource tasks such as policy administration.
